The SEC lists its 2026 championship game for Saturday, December 5, at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. Its championship page describes a division-free league with the top two teams reaching the title game.
Begin with conference results
When you open the official standings, distinguish the conference record from the overall record. Those columns answer different questions. A team's full-season win total is useful background, but it should not be substituted for its place in the conference race.
The available championship-page table still showed earlier results when this guide was checked. We have therefore linked the current standings instead of presenting that cached table as a completed October 17 update.
Do not guess who is eliminated
A difficult route and a mathematically closed route are different things. Before declaring a team out, account for its remaining games, the other contenders' schedules and the conference's published tie-breaking procedure.
Our practical suggestion is to follow one weekend at a time. Write down the games involving the teams nearest your club, then revisit the official table after those results are complete. It is a clearer way to follow a crowded race than relying on a chart with no date.
